Shut Up Claudia - "We are Volcanoes" - April 10 / May 10, 2025

We haven't even had time to dismantle the collective exhibition "Road to Gaza" and we are already ready to inaugurate the personal exhibition "We are volcanoes" by the Portuguese illustratorShut up Claudia!

This is Claudia's first solo exhibition in Turin and represents her transition from digital illustration to pictorial art on paper and large canvases.

An important and ambitious step, constructed and conceived during her artistic residency in Amsterdam in the summer of 2024. During that time, Claudia experimented with free-form screenprinting, collage, and oil pastels, developing the concept of volcanoes as the perfect metaphor for humanity. Indeed, we are all vessels of living lava made of feelings and emotions that transform into different eruptions depending on our way of being and relating to others.

From this idea was born “We are Volcanoes”, an explosion (it's really the case to say) of bright and vibrant colours, perfectly synthesized by our large wall where the dense display of original drawings has created a real “wall of volcanoes”.

For the exhibition, which features preparatory sketches, silkscreens of various sizes, originals on paper, and large canvases, we produced three limited editions, which were signed and numbered by Claudia during the inauguration.

The exhibition, inaugurated on April 10th, is open to the public free of charge until May 10th, from Monday to Saturday.

PS - On May 9th the free workshop organized on the occasion of theTurin Graphic Days(link?) from the title“Listen to your Volcano”where participants followed Shut Up Claudia in creating their own personal three-dimensional volcano, using paper, scissors and colored pencils.
